Richard F. Davis focuses his practice on U.S. and international real estate, business and finance law. He has represented many nationally and internationally known owners, developers, investors, and lenders in all aspects of real estate acquisition, development, operation and finance. He has been involved in international transactions involving more than seventeen countries with particular emphasis on Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, Japan, the People's Republic of China and Europe.

- Representation of sponsors and developers of international point-based vacation clubs with component sites throughout the world in legal and tax structuring, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
- Representation of numerous developers, owners and lenders involved with all forms of recreational real estate such as hotels, destination resorts, condominiums, planned unit developments, timeshares, fractional ownership interests, golf courses, marinas, clubs, festival marketplaces and other forms of entertainment real estate.
- Representation of developers, owners and lenders involved with non-U.S. interval ownership projects in connection with the legal and tax structuring of construction, real estate inventory and accounts receivable financing facilities for such projects including the development of a pioneering approach to collection in the U.S. of receivables owned by non-U.S. parties.
- Acted as lead U.S. counsel for a Mexican public company in its $600 million purchase and resale of Mexican and U.S. cement operations and land holdings.
- Represented the U.S. partner in a U.S.-Chinese joint venture to develop and operate the first and largest luxury hotel in the People's Republic of China.
- Acted as lead counsel for a partnership of public and private pension funds and other institutional investors managed by a leading national advisor in connection with the acquisition of a portfolio of 3 major industrial and retail properties located in 3 states with an aggregate fair market value in excess of $100,000,000.
- Acted as lead counsel for nationally known private investment funds in connection with the acquisition of portfolios of multifamily units, industrial, commercial and retail properties located in throughout the U.S.
- Representation of owners, developers, operators and lenders in connection with the negotiation and completion of development agreements, land use and entitlement matters for some of the largest mixed use developments in California.
